How to Deal With Teething Issues
Posted on 12/19/2022 by Moyer Office
Teething occurs when your baby's teeth begin to show and is an uncomfortable experience for babies. It usually happens when they are around 4 to 7 months old. As a parent, you should know how to soothe your baby and help them feel comfortable when they are teething. This means you should also be fully aware when your child begins to teeth to implement the right measures to ensure the whole experience is less stressful for your child. How Do I Know My Baby Is Teething? When babies begin to teeth, there are always signs that can help you know it is time. Some of the most common symptoms are swollen gums, fussiness, irritability, trouble sleeping, drooling, and loss of appetite. There might also be unusual signs like diarrhea, rash, or fever. If you notice any of these unusual signs, it is important to call our dentist to know how you can assist your baby before bringing them to a pediatric dentist. What Are Some Ways to Soothe Teething In Babies? Your dentist might give you several tips on how to soothe teething issues in your baby. If their gums are swollen, you may be advised to use a pacifier, wet cloth, or a spoon to help them feel better. You are also advised to run a clean finger over your baby's teeth and massage it gently to ease the swelling. During teething, babies love to chew on things, and your dentist may also advise getting a rubber for your child to chew on. This greatly helps to distract their attention and makes the problem less uncomfortable. Is There Anything Else I Should Know About Teething There are treatment options to help soothe baby teething, but before you consider any treatments available out there, seek help from our pediatric dentist. He will advise you whether you should use any treatment or wait for all your baby's teeth to grow. If the teething is severe, he will guide you on what to do.
